Looking ahead to the month of September, I will be focusing on Mindfulness and Awareness. I hope to develop a long term practice of meditation to bring about a greater self awareness.
One concept that I hope to learn more about during this month is Shoshin. Wikipedia defines Shoshin as a word from Zen Buddhism meaning “beginner’s mind.” It refers to having an attitude of openness, eagerness, and lack of preconceptions when studying a subject, even when studying at an advanced level, just as a beginner would.
During my studies on mindfulness I have read many articles that boast of the benefits of practicing mindfulness for mental and physical well being. I hope to learn a lot about mindfulness during this month. I’m looking forward to my month (or more) of mindfulness practice.
