If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
I believe that love is the re-occurring theme of Faith. I believe that Love is the foundation for all faith. To care for another person, for the greater good of society, and for someone else’s soul. That takes love. Because let’s face it, sometimes we are not very lovable.
In my faith, God sent his son to die for me. In my opinion if someone is willing to die for you, that is love. I don’t feel like my life is more important than another person’s life but if someone is willing to die for me, wow! That’s love. I love my children and my husband with all my heart and I would like to think that I would die for them, but let’s hope I never have to test this theory. I care for them greatly. No matter what I love them. I believe that when it comes to spirituality that no matter what, love prevails.
One of my favorite verses in the Bible is 1 Corinthians, Ch 13 verse 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
At the end of the day you can have faith, religion, beliefs, rituals or whatever makes you tick but in my opinion if you do not love, for yourself, one another, or God, then you are missing the most important thing in your spiritual life.
