Hope for Humanity

Conflict is an inevitable occurrence in any relationship. That’s just the way it is. We will never completely agree with other people. That is why it is so important to have healthy communication skills to resolve conflict and to use kindness in a way to improve relationships.

How we communicate with others can result in the strength of our relationships. When communications break down our relationships start to break down as well.

In the book Communication and conflict resolution skills, (Katz, N. H., Lawyer, J. W., Sosa, K. J., Sweedler, M., & Tokar, P. (2020). Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills., 1-161. Retrieved from https://nsuworks.nova.edu/shss_facbooks/177), practical applications are recommended to enhance communication skills and effective leadership skills . The books offers topics on learning and skill development, information sharing, reflective listening, assertion and conflict resolution. All of these are skills that will help in resolving conflict and improving communication in whatever relationship that you are working on.

We are sometimes so focused on what we want in life that we are unable to interact with those around us in an effective and healthy manner. That is why I believe that when working on the value of relationship that Communication, conflict resolution and kindness are so important.

When I speak about kindness I am not talking about giving in or giving up on what is important to you. This is where information sharing, reflective listening and assertiveness comes in. Listen to understand not just to respond. Share your expectations without forcing your ideas on others. Relationship is about sharing what is important to you and what is important to the other person.

Find your strength through kindness! In a world full of conflict, miscommunication and hostility practice humanity.
