Happiness Project
Sandra Ray, LSW
“Happiness is not a goal…it’s a by-product of a life well-lived.” Eleanor Roosevelt
Mindfulness

“I define mindfulness as the practice of being fully present and alive, body and mind united. Mindfulness is the energy that helps us to know what is going on in the present moment.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
Values

Choosing your personal core values is one of the critical focusing decisions that can make an amazing difference in how you live your life. As a person, they reflect the fundamental choices of who we want to be – American Psychological Association (APA.org, 2012)
You

Happy people are more interested in other people. We turn outward, if we are unhappy we turn inward. – Elizabeth Gilbert
Strategy
Develop goals that are S.M.A.R.T.
- Specific
- Measurable
- Achievable
- Realistic
- Time sensitive
Growth
To accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream. Not only plan but also believe.
Anatole France
Success
“Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”
— Winston S. Churchill
About Me
I am a Mother, Grandmother, Wife, and Mental Health Professional. I live in Ohio with the love of my life. I enjoy the outdoors, my dog and doing things with my family (not necessarily in that order). I love to learn new things. During this project I hope to learn more about Meditation, Mindfulness, Shoshin, Positive Psychology and Self Awareness. I believe that life (and happiness) is what you make of it.
